Engineering assessment should be considered where cracking is increasing, recurring or widespread; where it is associated with uneven floors, sticking doors or windows, wall rotation, separation or other movement indicators; or where there is concern regarding structural performance.
Crack width alone does not determine structural significance. The cracking pattern, building construction, movement history and surrounding site conditions must also be considered.
